Q1 : Is it 'legal' to allow book borrowing by post ?
Q2 : The publishers don't realise that allowing content access for micro-payments is the way forward. Restricting access doesn't work (forces ppl to dl illegal copies); legal cheap access is far better. After all why buy a whole book when you just want to flip thru it and copy a bit ? How about allowing perusal and downloading (in a high quality font) of selected chapters/pages for say 1p per side ?
Just like nusic shifted to a download model using free perusal; books can too !
